Our History
New Beginning Baptist Fellowship Church History

In 2004, on a cold wintry Saturday evening, a handful of believers met at the Pastor’s home to encourage and support one another, not knowing what the Lord had in store for us. We held hands and prayed. We sang beautiful hymns and choruses which were followed by refreshments. In closing, Pastor Ledain led us in a word of prayer and uttered words of hope as he encouraged us to look to the future to a new beginning and what the Lord had in store for us. It was out of those words that the name of our church was born…New Beginning Baptist Fellowship Church.

Shortly before parting that cold Saturday evening, one of our brothers generously offered the basement of his home for Sunday worship the following morning. That night we went to our respective homes and contacted those brothers and sisters who were not present, but who we knew would be anxious to hear the good news. We went to bed that night with renewed hope knowing that our awesome Lord had started a good work. It was a joyful occasion in our humble beginnings that first Sunday morning when a room full of brothers and sisters who shared the same hope and vision met once again since we parted ways on a sad note. We prayed, sang and rejoiced together with such jubilation unaware of our surroundings, but very aware of our Lord’s presence. As the news about NBBFC got around, our congregation grew from a handful to many in a very short time. Soon we needed more space in which to worship. The Lord opened up Angelic Treasures nursery school where we met for bible study and Sunday morning worship service. We had our first Good Friday and Easter Sunday Worship Services and breakfast, and a great crowd was there to celebrate with us. Again, the presence of our Lord was truly with us. What a blessing to all, young and old alike. From then on, there was no turning back.

Our Lord has blessed this ministry in countless ways. We have an exciting youth outreach program led by Pastor Jovin, where many of the young people in the community meet once a week to play basketball and hear the word of God. We have an excellent Youth Praise and Worship Team headed by Edlene Ledain that lead the congregation together with the other young people, in songs and worship for Youth Sunday, every third Sunday of the month. The young people are the future of NBBFC, and we must encourage and support them. We have an active and vibrant seniors’ outreach program which is led by Pastor Fevrier as he and other members of the congregation share the word of God weekly with the tenants of Sunrise Senior Living and The Village of Erin Meadows. We have an active Ladies’ Fellowship that meet once a month for fellowship and study the word of God. We have had several baptisms where many people have been baptized and are now part of our growing family of believers in Christ

Let us not look back. God has been good to the people of New Beginning Baptist Fellowship Church. He has brought us out of nowhere and has taken us somewhere. He was with us in 2004 at the inception of NBBFC, and he is with us today as we celebrate our thirteenth anniversary. God had a plan for his people back then, and he still has a plan for us today. Because of NBBFC, many new and blessed relationships have been formed. We previously worshipped together, but did not have the joy of sharing the relationships we now have, many on a personal level. We are now one big family in Christ.

We have a vision and a bright future which our Lord holds. Let us trust Him for where he is taking us. In 2004 we had chaos and confusion. Today we have a purpose and a sense of direction as the Lord continues to guide us and we must follow him in obedience.
